What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal position at EJI Recruiting?
Hiring ASAP for a senior Family Law Paralegal with complex, full-cycle litigation and trial experience. This is an established Law firm focusing on high-asset divorces and paternity cases in the Downtown Orlando area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and e-file legal documents - pleadings, petitions, motions, notices, discovery, third-party subpoenas, final judgments, financial affidavits, charging liens, responses, objections, answers, and correspondence to opposing counsel, experts, the court, third parties, mediators, etc.
- Coordinate and schedule mediations, depositions, hearings, trials, meetings, etc. with all relevant parties and the Court's calendar systems.
- Calendar and manage deadlines and follow-ups
- Maintain and update client files, Production Control Logs (PCL), and pleadings indexes
- Assist with calculating and preparing alimony, Child Support Guidelines, and Equitable Distribution Worksheets
- Manage and coordinate trial preparations, including complex document productions and trial/hearing notebooks, deliveries of exhibits, binders, and caselaw to the Courthouse.
- Research and pull relevant documents, proofread documents, and organize exhibits in preparation for a motion filing
- Conduct complex legal research, including property records, appraisals, financials, client businesses, opposing party businesses, and registered agent/mailing addresses for subpoenas
- Handle redactions, edits, redlines, and proofreading of all documents.
- Interact and correspond with all parties, counsel, mediators, court reporters, process servers, and assist with inquiries
- Bill and enter your own time daily, and assist with firm invoices and client payments.
Qualifications:
- 4 years of complex litigation experience (preferably in family law), handling heavy document production and trial preparations; compatible areas would be in complex commercial litigation, complex commercial real estate disputes, or financial services litigation...
- Experience using the Florida E-filing Court’s AI calendar system, JACS, JAWS, etc.
- Ability to manage information through various firm databases, including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, i-Manage, OneDrive, Dropbox, Family Law Software, DPA, and other platforms
