Goal of the Working Position: Optimize manufacturing processes, equipment, labor, and material flow to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance. The role develops and implements efficient production methods, drives continuous improvement, and supports successful launches and operational performance.
Most important task and responsibilities:
Process amp; Manufacturing Engineering
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes, methods, and workflows to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Establish and maintain standardized work, process layouts, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
- Conduct time studies, work measurement, line balancing, and capacity analyses to establish labor and production requirements.
- Evaluate equipment, tooling, workstation design, and manufacturing methods to improve process performance.
- Support development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
Continuous Improvement amp; Operational Excellence
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, material flow and manufacturing costs.
- Lead and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, Kaizen, waste reduction, and value-stream improvement.
- Analyze production data and KPIs to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for process-related issues.
- Support Initiatives to reduce cycle time, scrap, downtime, labor costs, and other manufacturing inefficiencies.
Launch amp; Production Support
- Support new product launches, engineering changes, production trails, and manufacturing readiness activities.
- Develop and validate production capacity, staffing requirements, cycle times, and process flow for new program.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure successful implementation of manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical support to production teams and resolve manufacturing and process-related issues.
- Support APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan and other applicable launch and quality activities
Plant Layout, Capacity, amp; Material Flow:
- Develop and maintain plant, production line, workstation, and equipment layouts.
- Analyze production capacity and identify equipment, labor, and space requirements.
- Optimize material flow, workstation design, and production sequencing to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
