Position Details
- This position will be assigned to the Eisner Health clinic located in Panorama City. Approximately 50% clinical / 50% administrative split of duties*
Job Duties
- Provides direct clinical care to patients or clients in their department (consistent with the standards outlined in their job description according to license).
- Provides consultation, guidance, and supervision to clinical providers in their department, including students, interns, and residents.
- Provides consultation, guidance, and supervision to other assigned subordinates in their department (such as case managers).
- Oversees orientation and onboarding of new clinical providers in their department.
- Assists the Chief Medical Officer in establishing and implementing a system of departmental peer review, pursuant to written procedures
- Reviews medical records of subordinate providers for completeness, accuracy and quality of care provided.
- Works with Chief Medical Officer and clinical providers to optimize departmental productivity.
- Is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the monthly departmental professional staffing calendar.
- Assists the Chief Medical Officer in the hiring, credentialing, evaluating, counseling, and/or firing of subordinate staff for the department.
- Conducts and keeps notes of monthly departmental staff meetings.
- Provides or coordinates in-service and case conferences for the staff in the department.
- Participates in the Quality Assurance program and is responsible for departmental QA activities.
- Assists the Chief Medical Officer in the development, implementation, review and/or revision of policies and procedures pertinent to the department.
- Works closely with the Chief Medical Officer to ensure compliance of licensing requirements and the Standards of Practices for their respective department.
- Acts as a clinical resource and liaison to the other clinical departments and the Center in general.
- Acts as a Center representative and liaison to external organizations.
- Participates in the Center’s monthly Clinical Directors’ meetings.
- Consults as needed with the Chief Medical Officer on departmental issues and concerns.
- Works closely with the Chief Medical Officer on a range of activities and proposals that require Board of Directors’ consideration and approval (e.g. new medical programs and services, budget recommendations relative to equipment, supplies and staffing requirements).
- We are seeking either a Pediatrician or a Family Medicine physician with strong pediatric experience.
- Strongly desired: Fluency in Spanish
- Strongly desired: 2 years of clinical leadership experience
- A thorough knowledge of acceptable medical record keeping and medical procedures.
- Experience in the supervision and/or reviewing of physician services, practices and medical office administration.
- Five years of experience in their field of licensure.
- Current licensure and (when applicable) board certification in their field.
