Woodworking Technology Teacher @ EMS

Position Summary:
The Middle School Woodworking Technology Teacher provides hands-on instruction, introducing students to industrial skills, engineering concepts, and safe tool use. The teacher maintains a structured, safety-focused shop environment while promoting creativity, problem-solving, and responsible work habits.

Responsibilities:

• Teach standards-aligned industrial technology courses, including woodworking, basic construction, measurement, design, and tool use

• Introduce basic welding concepts, emphasizing safety procedures and equipment identification

• Design engaging, project-based learning experiences

• Teach, model, and consistently enforce shop safety procedures

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment

• Assess student learning and maintain accurate records

• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff

• Participate in meetings, professional development, and school initiatives

Qualifications:

• Valid state teaching license with appropriate endorsement (Industrial Technology, Technology Education, CTE, or related area)

• Knowledge of shop tools, equipment, and safety practices

• Ability to manage a hands-on classroom with a strong emphasis on safety
