Position Summary:
The Middle School Woodworking Technology Teacher provides hands-on instruction, introducing students to industrial skills, engineering concepts, and safe tool use. The teacher maintains a structured, safety-focused shop environment while promoting creativity, problem-solving, and responsible work habits.
Responsibilities:

Teach standards-aligned industrial technology courses, including woodworking, basic construction, measurement, design, and tool use

Introduce basic welding concepts, emphasizing safety procedures and equipment identification

Design engaging, project-based learning experiences

Teach, model, and consistently enforce shop safety procedures

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment

Assess student learning and maintain accurate records

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff

Participate in meetings, professional development, and school initiatives
Qualifications:

Valid state teaching license with appropriate endorsement (Industrial Technology, Technology Education, CTE, or related area)
