Job Description: Education: Required: N/A Preferred: Courses taken in Nutrition Licensure/Certification: Required: Current Riverside County Food Handler’s Card or Serve Safe Certificate Experience: Preferred: Restaurant or food service experience, experience with therapeutic diets Reports To: Clinical Nutrition Manager/Assistant Director Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric Blood Borne Pathogens: Minimal/ No Potential Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Ability to follow instructions, Ability to read and write English, Ability to speak and understand English Essential Responsibilities 1.Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. 2.Speaks menu following standard scripting guidelines. 3.Assists patients in selecting meals offering alternatives when appropriate. 4.Ensures meal choices are appropriate for Physician prescribed diet. 5.Informs patient of physician prescribed diet and provides Diet Awareness card. 6.Provides patient with basic information regarding dietary restrictions when taking meal order. 7.Prepares and delivers patient meals in efficient and timely manner. 8.Ensures patient has everything for their meal prior to leaving the room. 9.Follows proper safety procedures related to food service equipment and knives. 10.Follows proper safety procedures related to preparation and holding of foods. 11.Attends all required inservice training. 12.Reports equipment problems immediately to manager. 13.Maintainins and updates patient nutrition profiles and passing that information on to the next CA. 14.Follows regulated hygiene standards. 15.Maintains stock levels in assigned area. 16.Maintains knowledge of nourishment requirements. 17.Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas. 18.Learns and follows standards regarding portion sizes. 19.Keeps work area clean, organized and sanitized. 20.Follows food safety guidelines. 21.Reports any patient complaints/concerns immediately to Assistant Director or Lead Catering Associate. 22.Performs other duties as assigned.
