Helps maintain healthy landscapes, conserves water resources and ensures that all irrigation systems function efficiently while supporting a safe, attractive, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Job Description: Education: Preferred: High school diploma or GED Licensure/Certification: Required: California Driver License with clean driving record Preferred: Irrigation certification and backflow certification Experience: Required: Two (2) years of experience in irrigation installation, maintenance and repair Reports To: Director or Manager Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients: N/A Blood Borne Pathogens: Minimal/ No Potential Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and unexpected situations, Ability to effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner, Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds, Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines, Ability to read irrigation plans, maps and technical manuals, Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment, Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday, Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment, Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind and rain, Familiarity with water conservation practices and landscape irrigation principles, Knowledge of irrigation controllers, valves, pumps, backflow devices and drip irrigation systems, Problem solving skills to identify issues and formulate effective solutions Essential Responsibilities 1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. 2. Inspects, operates and maintains irrigation systems, including controllers, valves, heads, drip systems, pumps, and related components. 3. Diagnoses and repairs leaks, broken lines, malfunctioning valves and irrigation heads. 4. Programs and adjusts irrigation controllers based on seasonal conditions, weather patterns and water conservation requirements. 5. Monitors water usage and implement practices that promote efficiency and sustainability. 6. Performs routine inspections to ensure proper coverage and system performance. 7. Maintains accurate records of repairs, inspections and irrigation schedules. 8. Coordinates with landscape staff and supervisors to support campus grounds maintenance activities. 9. Responds promptly to emergency irrigation repairs to prevent property damage and water waste. 10. Ensures compliance with local water regulations, safety standards and hospital policies. 11. Maintains tools, equipment and inventory required for irrigation repairs and preventive maintenance. 12. Assists with planting, turf care and general landscape maintenance as needed. 13. Identifies opportunities for improvements to irrigation systems and recommends upgrades to enhance efficiency. 14. Responds to urgent repairs and works flexible hours as needed. 15.
