Maintains communication between physicians, nursing and other departments as part of the health care delivery team. Job Description: Education: Required: EKG Class Preferred: Graduate of an approved Cardiovascular or Medical Assistant program Licensure/Certification: Required: American Heart Association BLS Experience: Preferred: Healthcare experience Reports To: Manager or Director Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients: Neonate/ Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric Blood Borne Pathogens: Minimal/ No Potential Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Ability to communicate with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff to ensure clear and accurate exchange of information, Ability to produce artifact-free electrocardiography studies, Ability to “stand-by” in cardiac arrests (codes) or cardioversion Essential Responsibilities 1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. 2. Obtains artifact-free electrocardiography. 3. Performs adequate holter monitors. 4. Performs EKGs in codes or cardioversion. 5. Prepares the patient’s room and equipment for the electrocardiography. 6. Prepares the patient according to the test being performed and confirm the status of skin allergies with patients. 7. Documents and processes procedures on a daily basis in the database. 8. Processes billing charges or credits on a daily basis. 9. Performs photocopying, filing, charting of reports in patient's medical record as needed. 10. Completes the care and operation of EKG equipment according to technical specifications and application of equipment. 11. Maintains clean, well-stocked equipment with supplies and “in good working order" after each shift. 12. Reports any unsafe or mal-functioning equipment to Bio-med and takes the necessary step in processing reported equipment. 13. Provides teaching and educational material to the patient and or significant others concerning electrocardiography. 14. Performs other duties as assigned. Welcome to Eisenhower Health Careers!
