Job Description: Education: Required: Graduate of a Radiologic Technology Training Program approved by the American Medical Association or equivalent training Licensure/Certification: Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) R.T. (R) certification; ARRT CT certification within one (1) year of hire; California Radiologic Technologist (CRT); American Heart Association BLS Preferred: Fluoroscopy permit Experience: Preferred: Experience as a Radiologic Technologist or CT Technologist Reports To: Supervisor-CT Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients: Neonate/ Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric Blood Borne Pathogens: High Potential Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and unexpected situations, Ability to communicate with patients, healthcare professionals, and staff to ensure clear and accurate exchange of information, Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines, Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, Proficient in the use of all CT equipment, scanners, injectors, and workstations, Written and verbal communication skills Essential Responsibilities 1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and reports suspected violations. 2. Follows ALARA guideline and uses Universal Precautions in all situations. 3. Utilizes proper radiation protection to protect patient and all persons present from excessive radiation. 4. Obtains appropriate medical history before patient examination and prepares patient for exam. 5. Documents any changes in patient condition using appropriate forms and contacting Radiology Registered Nurse (RN) or appropriate person when necessary. 6. Keeps patient informed of exam procedures, any delays, and allows patient to ask questions regarding the procedure. 7. Prioritizes stat procedures and organizes patient flow. 8. Communicates with Emergency Department physicians and staff on patient exams, delays, concerns and care. 9. Performs CT procedures of highest technical quality. 10. Performs appropriate procedures as ordered and assists Radiologist who is performing procedure. 11. Uses all CT equipment efficiently and reports all deficiencies to immediate supervisor. 12. Documents procedures in PACS and patient chart and utilizes required forms and billing procedures. 13. Prioritizes procedures and utilizes time wisely to complete daily workload within scheduled shift. 14. Assists in other areas of the CT department, as needed. 15. Works additional shifts and/or different shifts, as needed. 16. Maintains cleanliness of CT rooms and surrounding area. 17. Checks supplies and stocks CT rooms; reports any deficiencies. 18. Assists transport with moving patients to CT scan table. 19. Performs other duties as assigned. Welcome to Eisenhower Health Careers!
