From classrooms to laboratories and beyond, we help fuel curiosity, creativity, and discovery every single day.
The Role:
We’re looking for a warm, energetic, and highly organized Customer Service Specialist to be the friendly front line for Eisco Scientific.
This is a hands-on, high-volume role. Your day is spent answering phones, working the customer service inbox and chat queue, entering orders, and handling returns and refunds. The mission is simple: take great care of customers, quickly. If you love talking to people, stay calm when it gets busy, and take pride in clearing a queue, you’ll thrive here.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Communication
- Answer inbound phone calls and provide friendly, real-time support
- Manage the customer service inbox and chat queue, responding promptly and professionally
- Respond to customer emails with warmth and speed
- Keep a clean queue—aim for zero unread or unresolved messages across phone, email, and chat
- Follow up on overnight and weekend inquiries first thing each business day
- Keep customers informed on order status, product questions, replacements, and resolutions
Order Management
- Enter customer orders accurately and quickly
- Process order cancellations, edits, and special requests in coordination with operations
- Create replacement orders when products are damaged, missing, or shipped incorrectly
- Document breakage and mis-ships and hand them off to operations for resolution
- Coordinate with warehouse, purchasing, and manufacturer partners to resolve order issues
Returns & Refunds
- Process customer return requests and issue return authorizations accurately
- Issue refunds promptly and correctly
- Flag recurring return issues to your team lead
Required Skills & Experience:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication—clear, professional, warm, and customer-first
- 2–4 years in customer service, client support, or a related customer-facing role
- Solid computer skills—comfortable juggling multiple tabs and tools at once without hand-holding
- Strong organization—you can keep many open requests moving without dropping any
- Detail oriented with the ability to balance completeness and accuracy of work with speed of work
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift
- Reliable, takes ownership, and follows through
- Works well across teams to get customer issues resolved
What Makes Someone Great in This Role:
We can teach the systems. These are the things we can’t:
- An extrovert who genuinely enjoys talking to people all day
- A ray of sunshine—positive energy that customers and coworkers can feel
- Easy to talk to
- Easy to work with
- The kind of person whose smile you can hear over the phone
Preferred Qualifications:
- ERP system experience such as Acumatica, NetSuite, SAP or similar platforms
- Experience supporting science, lab, or technical products
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced entrepreneurial environment; no two days are exactly alike
- Standard office environment with occasional light lifting (up to 25 lbs)
- Diversified work assignments; new situations arise regularly and require judgment to resolve
- Frequent volume and deadlines are a routine part of this role—not an exception
- Working hours Monday–Friday days only; may require occasional extended hours based on the needs of the business
