Quality Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Quality Engineer to join our production team at EIS inc. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining and improving the quality of our manufactured products. Working closely with the production floor, manufacturing engineers, and the quality management team, you will help monitor production processes, perform root cause analysis on product defects, and ensure all final deliverables meet our strict industry and customer specifications.

This position is an excellent opportunity for a recent engineering graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced production environment and develop a strong foundation in industrial quality assurance and continuous improvement methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Inspection & Auditing: Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure adherence to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Defect Analysis & CAPA: Assist in investigating non-conformances and customer complaints. Support the development and implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate root causes of defects.
• Quality Documentation: Create, maintain, and update quality control documentation, including inspection procedures, control plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with floor supervisors, machine operators, and manufacturing engineers to identify process bottlenecks and implement Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Measurement & Testing: Utilize standard measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and testing equipment to verify product dimensions and material properties.
• Compliance Support: Assist the Quality Manager in preparing for and conducting internal and external quality audits (e.g., ISO 9001 compliance).

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a closely related physical engineering discipline. (Strictly Required)
• Technical Fundamentals: Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, production environments, and quality control concepts.
• Print Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a methodical approach to data collection and root cause analysis.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with both engineering staff and production floor personnel.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

• Previous internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial quality environment.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and standards such as ISO 9001.
• Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Six Sigma methodologies, or Lean Manufacturing principles (Yellow or Green Belt is a plus).
• Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or specific Quality Management software.
