The opportunity
We’re looking for an intern on the hardware engineering team to troubleshoot field units and support testing of prototypes. You’ll be part of a small, mission-driven team working on novel hardware products. We’re growing quickly so there are ample opportunities for challenge and growth.
This role requires being on-site in our San Francisco office. It will last 3 months and is available immediately.

How You’ll Contribute
- Troubleshoot issues seen in the field by customers by analyzing data from units, talk to customers as needed to understand failures, and work with the engineering team to determine root causes and corrective actions.
- Support prototyping using in-house and external vendors for methods like 3D printing, laser cutting, and machining.
- Perform various testing on prototypes to ensure designs meet product goals, including thermal and reliability testing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and software systems to understand possible causes of failures.
- Familiarity with interpreting data and sensor readings.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis, DOE, and quality measuring techniques.
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
