Job Title: Detail Manager
Location: Eide Chrysler St Cloud
Reports To: Service Manager
Job Summary
The Detail Manager is responsible for overseeing all vehicle appearance operations at the dealership, ensuring every new and pre-owned vehicle meets brand standards for cleanliness, presentation, and delivery readiness. This role manages the detailing team, coordinates workflow with sales and service departments, and maintains high-quality standards while controlling costs and turnaround times.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily operations of the detailing department, including scheduling, workflow, and staffing
Ensure all new vehicles are properly prepped for delivery, display, and customer handoff
Oversee detailing of pre-owned vehicles to meet dealership and manufacturer standards
Inspect completed vehicles for quality, consistency, and attention to detail
Hire, train, coach, and supervise detail technicians
Maintain department productivity while meeting delivery deadlines
Coordinate closely with Sales, Service, and Inventory teams to prioritize work
Manage inventory of detailing supplies, chemicals, and equipment
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and dealership policies
Address reconditioning issues, customer concerns, and quality improvements
Monitor costs, control waste, and recommend process improvements
Qualifications
Previous experience in automotive detailing required
Prior Leadership Or Supervisory Experience Preferred
Strong knowledge of detailing processes, products, and equipment
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and time-management skills
High standards for quality and attention to detail
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
