Media Analyst

eicoff
Chicago, IL Full Time
POSTED ON 3/4/2026 CLOSED ON 5/4/2026

What are the responsibilities and job description for the Media Analyst position at eicoff?

Who we are looking for:

The Media Analyst role at Eicoff is designed for a math-oriented professional who loves data but wants a healthier work-life balance than the typical agency grind.

You will serve as the engine of our reporting capabilities, ensuring our clients receive accurate, timely insights on their media performance. While the role begins with a strong focus on the technical production of dashboards and data quality, it is designed as a growth position. You will work closely with Data Engineers to translate media requirements into technical specifications, and you will be mentored by department leadership to develop the "art" of data storytelling.

We are looking for a patient problem solver who has the foundational hard skills to query and visualize data today, with the desire to enhance their capabilities for tomorrow.  Please note, this is a hybrid role and requires three (3) days per week in our West Loop / Fulton Market office.  Candidates must reside within the greater Chicago area and be able to commute to the office weekly.

What you’ll do:

  • Dashboard Production & Management: Your primary responsibility is ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of weekly performance reports. You will manage data visualization dashboards (primarily in Tableau) for Eicoff’s clients, ensuring data integrity and usability.
  • Data Engineering Collaboration: You will act as a translator between the media teams and our Data Engineers. You will help write the specs that tell the engineers what data needs to be pulled from our Snowflake database to populate your dashboards.
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis & Querying: You will use SQL to query from our in-house database for quick answers to client questions and perform data QA.
  • Growth into Data Storytelling: While your initial focus will be on the "what" (reporting), you will undergo training to master the "why" (insights). You will learn to interpret media metrics to tell compelling stories that drive strategy.

What you’ll need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field is required (e.g., Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or similar).
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a media, advertising, or marketing environment. Experience with TV metrics (Linear, DRTV, CTV) is preferred. Internships and entry-level agency roles count.
  • Foundational proficiency in Tableau is preferred. We are open to candidates with strong experience in other platforms (Power BI, Looker Studio, Datorama) who are willing to cross-train.
  • Excel:  Strong skills are required (Pivot tables, complex formulas, cleaning data).
  • SQL:  Basic ability to write queries to select and filter data from a database.
  • GA4: Basic navigation skills in Google Analytics 4 is a plus.
  • ELT/ETL:  Foundational exposure to Extract, Load, Transform tools (specifically Alteryx) is desired, though deep expertise is not required.
  • A collaborative spirit, patience in troubleshooting data discrepancies, and a genuine desire to learn.
