Entry Level Piping Designer

Description

We seek an entry or junior level designer with basic knowledge of AutoCAD and/or other CAD platforms. The ideal candidate has an aptitude for 3D design, a willingness to take on frequent field assignments, and a proactive, communicative personality eager to learn and grow.

Compensation: $28-38 per hour *Anticipated rate may vary based on qualifications, experience, and location.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and update piping drawings and layouts using AutoCAD or similar CAD tools
• Assist in creating 2D and 3D models for piping systems
• Collaborate with engineers and senior designers to ensure design accuracy and compliance
• Conduct site visits for data collection and incorporate findings into design work
• Support design checks and integrate 3D scans into models as required
• Assist in performing 3D scans at client facilities
  
  

Job Requirements

• 0 to 3 years in piping design or a related field
• Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design, or equivalent technical training/experience
• Basic knowledge of piping fundamentals and drafting principles
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent design software
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to engage with co-workers and clients via Microsoft Teams
• Ability to travel frequently to a nearby refinery site location; occasional travel to other client sites possible
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to 3D modeling software (CADWorx, Plant 3D, Revit, Solidworks, Inventor)
• Familiarity with point clouds in a CAD environment
• Experience with Navisworks
  
  

Industry Requirements

This role may require all or some of the following requirements at time of hire or during employment:

• RSO Safety Training and current card or ability to obtain.
• Client Safety Training and current badge or ability to obtain.
• TWIC Certification and current card or ability to obtain.
• Background screening including previous employment, education, criminal history, and driving record verification.
• Participation in random drug and alcohol programs.
