Responsibilities & Duties
- Visit various construction sites and perform job site inspections
- Perform near miss and incident investigations, identify and track corrective actions
- Develop job safety analyses for various jobs
- Develop and conduct safety related training to new and current employees and subcontractors
- Develop job site safety plans and reports
- Draft and revise safety policies
- Uphold drug testing policy, safe driving policy and related programs
- Promote positive safety-first atmosphere
- Provide direction, support and resource to all managers, superintendents, foremen, and employees as well as those working at the job sites.
- Other duties as required
- Occupational health and safety degree or related field preferred; high school diploma required
- 3-5 years of experience in safety field, construction preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Understanding of OSHA as well as federal, state and local safety statutes
- Knowledge of environmental standards and industrial hygiene standards
- Good driving record and ability to pass a background check
- Ability to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to shifting tasks and work hours as needed.
