We are hiring an Associate Immigration Attorney who can take ownership of cases, think strategically, and execute at a high level in immigration court. If you want to develop real courtroom skills, carry real responsibility, and do work with direct human impact — this role is built for that.
Compensation:$110,000 - $150,000 Plus Bonus
Responsibilities:- Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals
- Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations
- Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients
- Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice
- Keep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
You will manage a substantial, litigation-focused caseload across removal defense and humanitarian immigration matters, including asylum (affirmative and defensive), removal defense in EOIR proceedings, Motions to Reopen/Reconsider, U visas, T visas, VAWA, complex waivers, and family-based cases.
Day-to-day, you will:
- Represent clients in Master Calendar and Individual Hearings
- Draft persuasive briefs, motions, and legal arguments grounded in rigorous research
- Develop a case strategy from intake through resolution
- Prepare clients for testimony and evidentiary presentation
- Conduct consultations and maintain consistent, clear client communication
- Lead internal case strategy discussions and mentor legal assistants
- Manage deadlines, filings, and case progression with minimal supervision
- Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
- Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys
- Successful completion of the bar exam
- Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
- Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA)
Required:
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active bar license in good standing (any U.S. jurisdiction)
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on immigration experience, including removal defense
- Meaningful EOIR courtroom experience (not merely observational)
- Strong legal writing and research skills
- Proficiency in Westlaw and/or Lexis
Preferred:
- Experience first-chairing hearings or leading complex cases independently
- Ability to issue-spot and build a case strategy without step-by-step direction
- Language skills relevant to the communities we serve (Spanish, Dari/Farsi, Pashto, Arabic, or similar)
- High organizational skills and reliability under pressure
