Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist clients with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort.
- Provide medication reminders and monitor health conditions.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals.
- Support clients with daily living tasks such as shopping, laundry, and housekeeping.
Qualifications
- Background in geriatrics is highly valued.
- Full time resident of the State of South Carolina or a resident of a city located within twenty five (25) miles of the State’s border.
- Shall have sufficient qualifications, knowledge and experience to execute the duties of the position and be knowledgeable of the regulations applicable to the program.
- Exhibit core skills including: technical knowledge, cultural awareness, analytical skills and clinical skills.
- Pass initial and ongoing background studies and screenings including but not limited to those of the South Carolina Department of Health and the Federal Office of the Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities.
- Current TB Test or documentation of negative chest x-ray
- Successfully pass a Pre-employment physical and drug test
- Disclose any conviction and criminal history records pertaining to any crime related to the provision of health services. A candidate who has been convicted of such crimes will not be hired.
- Must have a valid in-state driver’s license, provide current registration and insurance, and have a driving record with no more than 6 points within the last 3 years
- Have demonstrated sympathetic attitude toward care of others who are vulnerable.
- Possess the ability to read, write and carry out directions.
- Possess the maturity to deal effectively with the demands of the job.
- Have demonstrated the ability to work with little supervision and make appropriate judgements.
- Have demonstrated dependability, tact and ability to follow orders.
