Structural Design Engineer

We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our growing Orlando, FL office! Build your career designing impactful, technically challenging structures alongside a team that is invested in your growth.

At Ehlert Bryan, you’ll be part of the design process from the beginning – contributing to exciting projects and working closely with architects, clients, and contractors to bring ideas to life. From early in your career, you will take on meaningful responsibility and play an active role in project delivery.

Our Orlando office is a small, growing team, giving you the opportunity to work closely with an energetic, tight-knit group and take an active role in many facets of structural engineering and project delivery. You’ll also have the support and resources of our larger team, providing both hands-on local experience and access to broad technical expertise.

Whether you’re a recent graduate or have a few years of experience, this is an opportunity to develop strong technical skills, gain broad project exposure, and grow into a well-rounded structural engineer with a clear path toward licensure and leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform structural design for steel, concrete, and wood systems
  • Analyze structures for unique loading demands – including high wind, high seismic, vibration, and progressive collapse – using advanced analysis methods and specialty detailing.
  • Build and work within 3D finite elements models to efficiently and accurately design structures
  • Coordinate and develop 3D Revit models as part of the design coordination and documentation process
  • Work directly with senior engineers and principals who are actively involved in training and mentorship
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, owners, and project teams across all phases, from early design through construction
  • Gain experience across a wide range of project types, materials, and structural systems
  • Take on increasing responsibility based on your experience level

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (Structures focus)
  • 0–5 years of structural engineering experience
  • Strong fundamentals in structural analysis and design
  • Clear communication skills and attention to detail
  • Motivated to learn, contribute, and grow professionally

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
  • Experience with RAM, ETABS, SAP, or similar tools
  • Revit or AutoCAD experience
  • Exposure to steel, concrete, or wood design

Why Ehlert Bryan?

  • Hands-on Experience Early

You’ll contribute directly to design and project delivery while building a strong technical foundation.

  • Direct Access to Leadership

You’ll work closely with our Florida team, senior engineers, and principals in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

  • Broad Project Exposure

Our portfolio includes high-rise residential, mixed-use developments, commercial, education, recreation centers, healthcare, adaptive reuse, repair, specialty structures and more – locally, nationally, and internationally – providing exposure to a wide range of complex and technically engaging projects.

  • Full Project Involvement

You’ll gain exposure to all phases of design and coordination, developing both technical depth and practical understanding.

  • Growth That Matches Your Experience and Goals

We tailor responsibility to your experience level – helping early-career engineers build strong technical fundamentals and confidence, while providing more experienced engineers with opportunities to take on greater ownership in design, coordination, and project leadership.

  • Collaborative Environment

You’ll work in a culture that is collaborative and supportive of your growth

  • Support for Licensure and Advancement

We provide mentorship, training, and support toward PE/SE licensure and long-term career growth.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $80,000 – $95,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Performance bonuses and profit sharing
  • 401(k) with company match
  • 100% company-paid health insurance (employee)
