EGS is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager 2 (TPM 2) to support complex technical procurement, construction, and project execution activities for Los Alamos National Laboratory.
The TPM 2 will manage discrete technical procurement scope and be responsible for supporting projects from initiation through turnover, including technical requirements, deliverables, budgets, schedules, risks, and day-to-day project execution. The position will work within a highly regulated nuclear environment and support projects executed in accordance with DOE O 413.3B, Earned Value Management System (EVMS), and NQA-1 requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with experience managing procurement, fabrication, construction, testing, commissioning, and turnover of complex nuclear or DOE projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Project Management- Manage technical procurement and project scope from initiation through turnover.
- Define and oversee project requirements, deliverables, budgets, schedules, and risks.
- Lead and support project teams in planning, tracking, and executing assigned scope.
- Provide day-to-day administrative and operational management for assigned projects or program areas.
- Coordinate technical personnel, support organizations, and matrixed project resources.
- Monitor project performance and ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
- Manage and coordinate complex procurement activities supporting project execution.
- Support fabrication, construction, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities.
- Coordinate project/construction/procurement activities within a highly regulated nuclear environment.
- Support development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards associated with construction and work execution.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams and supporting organizations.
- Develop and monitor project budgets and schedules.
- Support project execution through established control accounts and work packages.
- Track project scope, schedule, cost, risk, and performance.
- Support Earned Value Management System requirements.
- Coordinate with project controls and technical resources to maintain alignment with program objectives.
- Control Account Manager (CAM) experience is highly desirable.
- Execute assigned project activities in alignment with applicable DOE and NNSA requirements.
- Support projects governed by DOE O 413.3B requirements.
- Ensure work is performed within established nuclear facility procedures and controls.
- Support procurement, fabrication, construction, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities performed under NQA-1 requirements.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and at least 5 years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
- Prior experience managing projects, construction, and/or procurement within a highly regulated and proceduralized nuclear, DOE, and/or NNSA environment.
- Demonstrated project-management experience involving scope, schedule, budget, risk, and project execution.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary and matrixed project teams.
- Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within established nuclear procedures and project-management requirements.
Important: The hiring team specifically identified lack of prior project/construction/procurement management experience in a highly regulated nuclear, DOE, or NNSA environment as a deal breaker.

- Experience managing projects within DOE O 413.3B Capital Line Item environments and/or relevant EVMS certifications.
