🔹 Role Overview
The Electrical Safety Officer administers the LANL Electrical Safety Program, serves as the primary contact for electrical safety matters, and provides expert-level guidance to project managers, engineers, craft professionals, and field teams. This role includes incident investigations, safety assessments, code compliance, and development of electrical safety policies and standards.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the LANL Electrical Safety Program.
- Serve as the primary contact for electrical safety questions and issues.
- Conduct incident investigations and develop corrective actions.
- Perform workplace inspections to identify electrical hazards.
- Review Integrated Work Documents (IWDs) and LOTO procedures.
- Support development of electrical safety codes, standards, and specifications.
- Provide advanced technical support to engineers and scientists.
- Evaluate equipment/services for electrical safety compliance.
- Calculate severity scores for electrical incidents.
- Develop electrical safety policies, procedures, and design standards.
🔹 Qualifications
- BS degree 7 years of field experience (or equivalent).
- Active DOE Q-Clearance (required).
- Advanced knowledge of electrical safety standards (NFPA, IEEE, OSHA), especially NFPA 70E.
- Experience with low-voltage AC/DC systems.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to pass Radiological Worker II training.
- Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office, standard PC applications).
🔹 Preferred
- 12 years of relevant experience.
- Prior DOE or national laboratory experience.
Salary : $150 - $165
