Assistant Manager and Catering

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Title: Assistant Manager/ Catering

Reports to: Owner/General Manager

Position Summary: The assistant manager/ catering is responsible for ensuring that the shift is running smoothly and that guests’ experience is beyond exceptional while also executing, overseeing, and coordinating all aspects of catering events, ensuring they run smoothly and meet expectations of clients. The job description for assistant manager and catering includes, but are not limited to, the following.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Catering Logistics and Set-up: Coordinate logistics for catering; including transportation, cooking/ assisting with cooking, set-up, and some breakdown. Ensure that all equipment and supplies are in place for a seamless execution.

·        Quality Control: Monitor the quality of food, presentation, and service to maintain high standards and exceed client expectations. Oversee and maintain brand image and ensure consistency.

·        Customer Relations/Customer Satisfactions: Focus on customer satisfaction, build and maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns or special requests promptly. Seeking feedback to improve services.

·        Store/Staff Coordination: Communication with General Manager and kitchen staff to ensure the necessary ingredients, equipment, products and staff are available for all catering and restaurant needs.

·        Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of client preferences, event details, and financial transactions.

·        Fundraiser Coordination: Act as the main point of contact during fundraising events, addressing any issues and ensuring a positive experience for both clients and supporters of the fundraising cause.

·        Management duties: Main point of contact for shift employees, employee training for new hires and current hires, assist with scheduling, paper orders, fill in for call outs as needed, ensure the overall cleanliness of the store is maintained, and truck orders.

·        Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with customers and co-workers

·        Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize

·        Strong sense of autonomy and urgency

Education and/or Experience:

·        2 years minimum of restaurant or hospitality experience preferred

·        Previous experience in sales preferred

Essential Physical Functions:

·        Ability to stand/walk up to 8 hours per day

·        Must be able to lift to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally

·        Required to frequently reach, bend, stoop, and carry

·        Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments; indoors and outdoors (limited)

·        Must be able to tolerate potential exposure to allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish

REQUIREMENTS

• Several years of experience working in a restaurant-related field and in a fast-paced environment
• Experience delegating tasks and maintaining quick service
• Maintain a current ServSafe Manager certification or be able to obtain certification within 3 months of job acceptance. Candidate must show an in-depth understanding of kitchen health and safety regulations, regardless of certification level.
• Proven work experience as a Kitchen Manager is preferred
• References will be required
