Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Tax Assessor Clerk to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will support the tax assessment process by managing data entry, verifying property information, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Your expertise will help maintain accurate records, facilitate effective communication between departments, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our tax assessment operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide clerical support to the Tax Assessor.
- Assist the public in person and by phone regarding assessments, property records, and deductions.
- Process applications for property tax deductions and exemptions.
- Maintain and update physical and electronic property records.
- Perform data entry using assessment and tax software.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and assessment-related documents.
- Assists with tax appeal preparations and annual assessment activities.
- Coordinate with other municipal departments as needed
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- General office practices and procedures.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn assessment software.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Qualifications & Requirement
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of clerical or administrative experience preferred.
- Municipal or tax assessment, finance, or public administration preferred but not required.
Pay: $16.58 - $18.44 per hour
