The Landscape Foreman is responsible for leading and managing a crew in executing a variety of landscaping projects that enhance and maintain the aesthetic and functional quality of residential and commercial properties. This role includes a broad range of activities such as planting, pruning, trimming, mulching, mowing, and performing seasonal cleanups.
This position supports both landscape maintenance and installation teams. Foremen will be placed in either a maintenance-focused or installation-focused role based on their experience and strengths.
As a key point of contact on-site, the Foreman is responsible for ensuring that all work is completed efficiently, safely, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role involves planning and preparing for each project, supervising crew members, and maintaining strong communication with both team members and management.
The Foreman is also responsible for accurate timekeeping and job tracking using ClockShark, supporting operational efficiency and accountability. The ideal candidate brings a combination of hands-on landscaping experience, leadership ability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

OBJECTIVES
- Lead and manage a crew of 1–2 employees, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workflow
- Execute landscaping work aligned with assigned team (maintenance or installation), including mowing, planting, pruning, mulching, and seasonal cleanups
- Plan and prepare for daily work by reviewing job details, organizing tools, and coordinating materials
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards
- Use ClockShark to accurately track time, job progress, and production
- Communicate effectively with management regarding job status, needs, and challenges
- Represent the company professionally on-site and respond to basic client inquiries
- Train and support crew members, fostering accountability and growth
- Maintain organized and accurate job notes and reporting
COMPETENCIES
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a small team
- Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance and/or installation practices, including plant care and pruning
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute landscaping projects efficiently
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining landscaping tools and equipment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Prior experience in landscape maintenance, installation, or related outdoor work is required. Leadership or crew management experience is strongly preferred.
Additional education or certifications in horticulture, landscape design, or related fields are beneficial but not required. Ongoing training opportunities are available to support continued growth and development.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Landscape Foreman position requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and uneven terrain. This role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting materials up to 50 pounds.
The Foreman must have the strength and endurance to operate landscape equipment, hand tools, and machinery while ensuring safe and proper use. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and sustain physical activity for extended periods is essential.
