Director Commercial & Industrial Product Line

The Director of Commercial & Industrial Product Management – C&I Energy Storage owns EG4’s commercial & industrial energy storage portfolio end-to-end. This role is accountable for what we build, why we build it, when it ships, and whether it wins. You own the roadmap, PRDs, margins, vendor alignment, certifications, and market fit for C&I ESS products ranging from 100 kWh to multi-MWh systems, including batteries, inverters, cabinets, MIDs, controls, and grid-interactive features.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Roadmap

• Own theC&I ESS product roadmap(12-, 24-, 36-month horizons)
• Definemarket segmentation(light C&I, ag, data centers, fleet, municipal, microgrid)
• Drive make vs buy decisions, platform reuse, and SKU rationalization
• Align roadmap withIRA / 45X / FEOC / tariff realities
• OwnPRDs from V0.1 → production → EOL
• Define system-level requirements
• Translate real installer customer pain into shipped features
• Be thefinal product authoritywhen tradeoffs happen
• Travel to factories when needed. Fix problems in person.
• Lock specs, control scope creep, enforce timelines
• Ownproduct margin targets, BOM cost, and cost-down plans
• Support pricing strategy and channel positioning
• Build business cases for new C&I platforms
• Support major customer deals when product authority isrequired
• Lead beta programs, pilots, and early customer deployments
• Own launch readiness (docs, training, firmware maturity)
• Drive post-launch improvements based on real-world data
• Decide when products get revisedor ended
  
  

Qualifications

• 10 years inenergy storage, solar, power electronics, or industrial systems
• 5 years owningcomplex hardware productsend-to-end
• Proven experience withC&I or utility-adjacent ESS
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience withmanufacturing & vendors in Asia
• Experience scaling products in theU.S. market
• Understanding ofAHJ realities, not just standards
• Ability to balancespeed, cost, and quality
