Position Title: Plant Manager Vidalia Valley
Location: Lyons, GA
Position Overview:
Hanline Group is seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Manager to oversee operations at an onion growing facility and food processing plant. The Plant Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of production, ensuring efficiency, quality control, safety compliance, and maintaining the highest standards in food processing. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, operational expertise in food manufacturing, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coordinate, and supervise daily plant operations to meet production goals, quality standards, and customer expectations.
- Develop and implement operational plans, production schedules, and workflow processes to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including food safety, OSHA, and environmental standards.
- Manage, train, and mentor plant staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and professional development.
- Oversee maintenance of equipment and facilities to ensure operational reliability and safety.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to maintain adequate supply and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to maintain product quality and resolve any production issues.
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Prepare and manage budgets, control expenses, and report on plant performance to senior management.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Agriculture, Engineering, Business Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in plant management, preferably in food processing or agricultural production industries.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP, GMP, and SQF certifications.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams and fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
- Proficiency with production management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to changing temperatures and physical activity such as standing, walking, and lifting.
