Role Description The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Taylor, MI. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs, policies, and procedures that comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company standards. Day-to-day activities include conducting facility inspections and audits, performing risk assessments, and leading incident investigations and corrective actions. The EHS Manager will deliver safety training, coordinate industrial hygiene and environmental monitoring, manage reporting and documentation, and oversee emergency response planning and drills. The role also partners with operations and engineering teams to ensure safe processes, support continuous improvement initiatives, and promote a proactive safety culture across the facility.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in environmental compliance, occupational health, and workplace safety program management.
- Experience with regulatory requirements such as OSHA, EPA, local environmental regulations, and relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency in risk assessment, hazard identification, incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
- Strong skills in safety training design and delivery, communication, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and report EHS data, including metrics, audits, inspections, and regulatory documentation.
- Familiarity with manufacturing or automotive environments, including chemical handling, process safety, and equipment safety.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field; advanced certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) are a plus.
- Proven ability to lead EHS initiatives, influence behavior at all levels, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a production setting.
