Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Engineering:

• Assist in the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes and workflows.

• Support continuous improvement projects, such as Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.

• Conduct time studies and process mapping to identify efficiency opportunities.

• Help update process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.

• Work cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to solve problems and implement solutions.

Industrial Maintenance Support:

• Assist maintenance staff with troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment issues.

• Support preventive maintenance (PM) activities and help develop maintenance schedules.

• Help track equipment downtime and analyze root causes of failures.

• Participate in projects involving machine upgrades, installations, or relocations.

• Assist with spare parts inventory and maintenance records management using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• Interest in both manufacturing systems and equipment maintenance.

• Basic understanding of industrial machinery and maintenance principles.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with CAD or CMMS software is a plus.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• Previous experience or coursework in machine maintenance, mechanics, or industrial systems.

• Familiarity with PLCs, motors, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) concepts.

• Experience working in a manufacturing plant or maintenance department.
