Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Safely administer prescribed medications to residents or patients following all regulatory guidelines and medical orders.
- Monitor and record vital signs, medication effects, and patient responses accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Point Click Care.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure accuracy in medical records.
- Observe and report any changes in patient condition or behavior related to medication effects or health status.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans tailored to each individual’s needs.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Point Click Care for documentation and patient record management.
- Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring specialized memory or mental health diagnosis is advantageous.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and adherence to HIPAA standards for patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Proven ability to handle medical equipment like blood pressure monitors, thermometers, and other vital sign measurement tools.
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach toward seniors and individuals with disabilities across diverse settings including acute care environments.
