Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hands on Facilities Technician to join our team. In this role, you will help maintain our facility, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure a safe, efficient, and well functioning work environment. You will perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance that supports daily operations and minimizes downtime.
The Facilities Technician works closely with operations, safety, and maintenance teams to identify and resolve facility related issues while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
What you will do
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems including lighting, doors, plumbing, HVAC, and basic electrical components
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and in good working condition
Repairs and Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and repair basic mechanical, electrical, and structural issues
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from departments
- Perform minor repairs such as replacing fixtures, repairing equipment, and maintaining building infrastructure
Preventative Maintenance
- Assist with preventative maintenance programs for facility systems and equipment
- Maintain maintenance logs and documentation of completed work
- Support scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance activities
Vendor Coordination
- Assist with coordinating external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services
- Monitor vendor work to ensure it meets company standards and safety requirements
Safety and Compliance
- Follow company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Ensure equipment and facilities meet safety and regulatory standards
- Report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately
Inventory and Facility Support
- Maintain inventory of maintenance tools and supplies
- Ensure proper storage and care of maintenance equipment
- Assist with facility setup and small facility improvement projects
- Provide general facility support across departments
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with RO systems and water softeners is a plus
- Experience working with boilers is a plus
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 to 5 years of facility maintenance, building maintenance, or technician experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and vendors
Technical Skills
- Ability to effectively use a multimeter
- Ability to read and understand basic schematics for troubleshooting
- Ability to safely and properly use tools and equipment required for maintenance tasks
- Ability to select the appropriate tool and equipment for the job to prevent damage or safety risks
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods
- Ability to work safely with tools and equipment both at ground level and at height
Work Environment
This position operates within a warehouse or manufacturing facility and may require working around machinery, equipment, and varying environmental conditions.
