eel is offering a Streaming Content Operations Internship for students interested in gaining structured, supervised exposure to how a modern streaming platform manages, organizes, and prepares content behind the scenes, before it goes live to millions of viewers who watch on TV, computers or their phones.

This internship is designed to be completed for academic credit through the student’s college or university, subject to school approval. Applicants should be able to obtain internship credit or participate through an academic internship program. Duration is 10 weeks, part-time, remote with 10–15 hours per week. This remote internship is designed as a supervised and instructional educational experience. The intern will work under close supervision and mentorship. Regular check-ins and structured guidance will be provided. The internship includes observation, instruction, and feedback as core components.


This internship is centered around two core learning objectives:


1. Content Operations

Students will learn how streaming platforms organize, prepare, and manage titles behind the scenes. This includes exposure to the workflows by which films, episodes, music videos, and channels move from delivery and review into structured platform systems.


2. Content Strategy

Students will learn how streaming services think about content presentation, organization, audience relevance, and catalog planning. This includes understanding how titles are positioned to support discoverability, user experience, and engagement.



Over the course of the internship, the student will receive supervised exposure to:

  • how streaming content moves from licensing and delivery into platform workflows
  • how metadata, artwork, synopses, genres, ratings, and other title information affect platform presentation
  • how content libraries are reviewed, organized, and maintained within streaming systems
  • how content strategy supports discoverability and the front-end user experience
  • how streaming platforms think about catalog structure, title grouping, and audience engagement
  • how FAST channels are scheduled and managed in a modern streaming environment
  • how market, catalog, and audience information can be interpreted in a streaming context


Educational Learning Areas

This internship is intended to help students build foundational knowledge in:

  • OTT (Over-the-Top): how content is delivered directly to audiences over the internet
  • CTV (Connected TV): how streaming content is distributed and viewed on devices such as Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, and smart TVs
  • FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV): how always-on ad-supported channels are programmed and scheduled
  • AVOD (Ad-Supported Video on Demand): how free ad-supported on-demand streaming platforms operate
  • Metadata: how title data, descriptions, genres, artwork, ratings, and related information shape discoverability and user experience
  • Content operations: the workflows that support catalog management, platform readiness, and publishing preparation
  • Content strategy: how streaming teams think about programming, presentation, and audience value


Educational Activities

The intern may, under supervision, participate in learning-oriented activities such as:


  • assisting with supervised metadata review and catalog organization exercises
  • observing how titles are prepared for front-end presentation
  • learning how catalog structure, programming choices, and scheduling decisions affect the user experience
  • observing how streaming teams think about content readiness, platform organization, and audience-facing presentation
