What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lumber Stacker position at EDWARDS WOOD PRODUCTS?
Job Summary: Maintain constant flow of 4”and 6” sized lumber boards into automatic stacker for the final shipment stage. Attention to maintaining straight consistency while the boards are incoming to the stacker lift table. Must visually monitor infeed/outfeed of stacker. Monitor infeed to ensure the lumber does not jam. Assure lumber stacks are straight. Alert maintenance should a mechanical issue arise. Maintain a constant flow of pallet lumber stacks. Monitor and maintain a clean work area, therefore, cleanup is also expected in this position. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
1. Excellent attendance
2. Excellent hand/eye coordination
3. Continuous physical demand in handling lumber using both hands
4. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and pull wood continuously.
5. Ability to recognize poor quality wood and discard appropriately
6. Ability to read a tape measure.
7. Able to work independently
8. Follow established EWPI safety rules to include special emphasis on Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
9. Refer questionable matters to work leader or supervisor
10. Work in a safe manner
11. Maintain clean and orderly work area
Hours: 7:00am-5:30pm Monday through Friday. Saturdays as requested.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.50 - $14.50 per hour
