What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder/Fabricator position at Edwards Moving and Rigging?
Under the direction of the Fabrication Shop Supervisor, this position will weld/fabricate metal components with welding equipment to fit and join, fabricate, and or repair heavy haul components, transport vehicles, and tooling per Engineering specification.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform duties using wire welding GMAW, FCAW, or SMAW
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
- Weld separately or in combination, using aluminum, steel and other alloys
- Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or types of thickness of metals
- Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to metals being welded, completing electrical circuits
- May assist in the painting of fabricated parts and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:
- 2 years of welding experience, prefer heavy equipment and/or structural steel
- Must have fabrication experience.
- Ability to operate a forklift is a plus
- Position does require a moderate amount of heavy lifting. Must be able to lift 50lbs minimum.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
