Drafter

Job Summary:

The Drafter is responsible for creating detailed AutoCAD drawings for fiberglass tank manufacturing projects in accordance with ASTM-D-3299, ASTM-D-4097, and project-specific requirements. The role involves direct communication with customers, accurate translation of purchase orders and quote information, database updates in FileMaker (iShip), and ensuring all documentation is stored both digitally and in paper files.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review purchase orders, quotes, and customer specifications
• Prepare and revise AutoCAD drawings using company templates and standard details
• Apply applicable standards (ASTM-D-3299, ASTM-D-4097, ASME-RTP-1 if specified)
• Communicate directly with customers for clarifications or approvals
• Coordinate with Operations Manager for job assignments
• Submit drawings for internal checking before customer release
• Update project records in iShip, including drawing numbers and revisions
• Ensure accurate digital file storage and paper file documentation
• Incorporate feedback and corrections efficiently
• Maintain version control and document historical changes

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for Mac
• Familiarity with fiberglass manufacturing drawings and standards
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications
• Effective written and verbal communication with customers and internal teams
• Organizational skills for file and document management

Physical and Working Conditions:

• Office setting with frequent computer work
• Occasional shop floor visits for coordination
• Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks

Tools and Systems Used:

• AutoCAD (Mac)
• FileMaker (iShip)
• Microsoft Office for Mac (for emails, O&M manuals, submittals)

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
