Team Overview:
The Wealth Management and Field Management (WMFM) 1st Line Risk Team work together to identify, assess, manage and elevate risks associated with the WMFM organization. The WMFM 1LOD Risk Team works to implement and operate the Enterprise Risk Management Framework. The WMFM 1LOD Risk Team drives alignment to the standards, provides transparency and visibility related to the risks in the WMFM profile and helps to design and monitor risk mitigation plans that help the functional area manage risks.

As the Senior Risk and Control Associate – Process Optimization you will:
The Wealth Management and Field Management (WMFM) 1st Line Risk Team work together to identify, assess, manage and elevate risks associated with the WMFM organization. The WMFM 1LOD Risk Team works to implement and operate the Enterprise Risk Management Framework. The WMFM 1LOD Risk Team drives alignment to the standards, provides transparency and visibility related to the risks in the WMFM profile and helps to design and monitor risk mitigation plans that help the functional area manage risks.
What You'll Do:
As the Senior Risk and Control Associate – Process Optimization you will:
- Lead the design, execution, and ongoing maturation of the WMFM Business Process Risk Management program, including identifying & inventorying, end-to-end process mapping, risk and control integration, ongoing assessments and attestations, and optimization initiatives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the WMFM Business Process Risk Management program, owning functional standard documentation, governance, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership, contributing to enterprise and divisional risk forums and supporting informed decision-making.
- Proactively identify and escalate emerging risks, trends, and control gaps, partnering with stakeholders to develop sustainable mitigation strategies.
- Act as a trusted advisor and mentor, supporting divisional leaders, associates, and peers by providing guidance on risk management expectations, standards, and best practices.
- Partner with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) to support the rollout and implementation of firmwide policies, standards, and initiatives within WMFM, ensuring alignment and adoption.
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders to drive risk ownership, accountability, and consistent execution across the organization.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5 years of experience in risk management, audit, process optimization, or a related discipline within Financial Services
- FINRA Series 7 license required (or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire)
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently with minimal oversight, managing complex initiatives and competing priorities
- Proven experience building and sustaining strong relationships and networks across multiple levels of the organization, including senior leadership
- Experience with business process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma certification or similar with relevant certifications preferred
**Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week effective June 1, 2026. Before June 1, 2026, candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.**
