Key Responsibilities / What You'll Do:
- Provide engineering-level support for the Edward Jones branch network, focusing on SD-WAN, SASE, routing, switching, and Wi-Fi.
- Maintain and optimize branch network infrastructure, including WAN circuits, LAN switching, wireless access points, and edge security.
- Lead the implementation and lifecycle management of SD-WAN and SASE platforms, ensuring secure and efficient traffic routing across the enterprise.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to evaluate, test, and deploy new network technologies and solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues and respond to escalations from branch teams and senior leadership.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including topology diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
- Support policy and configuration rollouts across all branch locations, ensuring consistency and compliance with enterprise standards.
- Participate in network architecture planning and contribute to strategic initiatives focused on scalability, security, and performance.
- Serve as a technical lead on cross-functional projects involving network infrastructure.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members and collaborate across teams to drive continuous improvement.
**Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week effective June 1, 2026. Before June 1, 2026, candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.**
- Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent experience or certifications (e.g., CCNP, CWNA, etc) will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering, preferably in a distributed branch environment.
- Proven expertise in:
- SD-WAN design, deployment, and support
- SASE architecture and integration
- Routing and switching (Cisco / Meraki, Arista, Juniper, etc.)
- Enterprise Wi-Fi (design, deployment, and troubleshooting)
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark, NetScout, SolarWinds).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex network issues.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and perform after-hours work for configuration rollouts and maintenance.
- Experience with Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and integration with SASE platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Knowledge of network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.).
- Exposure to financial services industry networking requirements and compliance standards.
- Advanced certifications such as Cisco CCNP, Aruba ACMP, Fortinet NSE, or Palo Alto PCNSA.
