Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Intervention specialist.
**MUST HOLD CERTIFICATION or ability to obtain**
The ideal candidate will work closely with other teachers and special education staff to provide individualized assistance to students, particularly those with diverse learning needs. This role is essential in fostering an inclusive environment that promotes academic success and personal growth for all students.
Responsibilities
- Implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to individual student needs.
- Provide support to students with disabilities, including those with autism and other developmental challenges, ensuring they can participate fully in classroom activities.
- Help develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet the unique learning requirements of each student.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to parents regarding individual performance and areas for improvement.
- Support literacy and math education by facilitating small group instruction and one-on-one tutoring sessions.
- Assist in the preparation of IEP (Individualized Education Program) documentation and participate in meetings.
- Engage with students during playtime or breaks, promoting social skills and positive interactions among peers.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
Skills
- Experience in Special Education settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with IEP processes and working with children with disabilities
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while being adaptable to changing needs.
- Competence in math instruction methods that cater to various learning styles.
- Ability to lift 25-50lbs
- Willingness to patriciate in Crisis Response Training (CRT)
