GENERAL SUMMARY:
Reviews, contributes, and proposes revisions to local policy, procedures and processes as needed, and acts as a general resource leader and subject matter expert (SME) to the Sterile Processing department. Educates new and existing associates in the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Builds and maintains relationships with Surgical Support Services market leadership.
- Identifies education gaps and competency opportunities and serves as a subject matter resource when issues arise.
- Assists in the development of standard operating procedures and policies to ensure adherence to national standards.
- Develops and maintains onboarding materials.
- Develops competency programming for Sterile Processing associates and maintains tracking of skills development.
- Assists in recruitment efforts for roles within the Sterile Processing department.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
- Graduate of Sterile Reprocessing College Course or Sterile Reprocessing Military experience preferred.
- Broad computer skills including Microsoft Software (Word, PowerPoint) preferred.
- Experience with SPM (instrument tracking system) preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
- Certified Surgical Reprocessing Technician preferred.
