JOB DESCRIPTION

Immediate Supervisor: Systems and Networking Manager 

Staff Supervised: None

Essential Requirements: (Education, Certification, Extended Experience and Technical Skills)

General:

1. No history of child abuse or negligence
2. Computer Science or Computer Management Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
3. Certified Network Administrator or equivalent experience preferred
4. Exceptional collaboration, oral and written skills
5. Successfully pass required background checks.
6. Regular and dependable in person attendance is required and is considered a condition of employment.
7. The assigned duties of this position may allow consideration of occasional/infrequent remote work with the approval of the supervisor.  Remote work is subject to the remote work guidelines and conditions outlined in the job description.  The supervisor may withdraw the remote work option at any time.

Technical:

1. Advanced knowledge of networking design and management

Essential Responsibilities:  (Job Tasks)

General Responsibilities:

1. Understand and comply with the ESU#3 Board of Education Personnel policies and Handbook
2. eRate Management
3. Primary contact for network configuration and troubleshooting
4. Primary contact for filtering
5. Primary contact for hardware procurement specifications
6. Other duties as assigned

Technical Skills:  Should have a working knowledge of all of the items below and advanced knowledge in selected topics.

10. Web Content/Proxy Filtering
11. Phone System Concepts and Design

13. Virtualization Technology Concepts
14. Intrusion Detection Concepts
15. Disaster Recovery Concepts
16. Network Security Concepts
17. Operating System and Network Troubleshooting
18. Document Imaging Administration
19. MS Exchange Server Administrator
20. MS Windows Administration
21. Google Administration
22. Backup and Restoration Procedures
23. Virtualization Technology Concepts
24. Storage Area Network Concepts
25. Update patches and hotfixes on MS products
26. Install and update anti-virus software
