Under the general direction of the Project Manager(s), the Assistant Project Manager will be a key player on one of our regional teams, helping us efficiently deliver high-quality construction projects for public schools. This position will join our team of construction consultants and provide expert guidance and project management exclusively to Washington State School Districts as owners representatives.

Region: 
Northwest Washington Region - This position will primarily support projects in Whatcom County with additional project support in Skagit, Snohomish, and Island Counties. Work will be conducted from home or regional office, with regular travel to school districts and project sites as needed. Candidate should be located within, or adjacent to,this service area and have access to high-speed internet.

Salary:
The full salary range for this position is $78,064.45-$99,987.83. Offers are made at the beginning of the range.

Essential Functions:
  1. Manage and maintain all electronic project data on the SharePoint platform. Ensure file structures are organized and maintained, and information is easily accessible to the team. Serve as the point of contact for all project-related digital assets. 
  2. Assist Senior Project Managers with day-to-day tasks, including scheduling meetings, preparing site reports, tracking project progress including scope, schedule and budget, and coordinating with various stakeholders. 
  3. Develop a deep understanding of Washington State’s school funding mechanisms and state procurement laws. Assist the team in navigating the unique financial and legal landscape of public projects.
  4. Assist in the creation and monitoring of project schedules and in the management of project financial tracking reports. 
  5. Assume responsibility for assigned work with minimal supervision. Display independence and the ability to identify and solve problems. 
  6. Assist in organizing and streamlining team workflows, ensuring efficient communication and collaboration. Utilize organizational skills to support the team in managing a high volume of projects and associated tasks.
Other Functions:
  1. Interpret and apply complex public funding and procurement regulations in a timely manner.
  2. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business Management or related  field; an Associate's degree and two years of experience in business, construction, facilities planning, architecture, design process or owner construction representation; OR a High School Diploma or GED and four years of experience in business, construction, facilities planning, architecture, design process or owner construction representation.
  2. Proficient user of Microsoft 365/Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). 
  3. Proficiency in SharePoint and/or electronic data management.
  4. Experience reviewing construction plans and specifications.
  5. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management,  Architecture, Business Management,  Engineering, or related field.
  2. Experience with the State of Washington public works process and OSPI School Construction Assistance Program.
  3. Experience with Bluebeam or similar system.
  4. Experience with CPM or other scheduling systems.
  5. Experience preparing and giving presentations to project stakeholders.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  1. Hours and work may require late evenings and/or overnight travel. 
  2. May work in a variety of settings, including outdoors, on construction sites, or in office environments.
Employment Requirements - ESD job offer is contingent upon satisfying the following:
  1. Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the WA State Patrol and FBI.
