Early Childhood Paraeducator

General ResponsibilitiesWishram School District is seeking a caring, energetic Paraeducator to support students in our Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP).This position works closely with teachers to support student learning, social-emotional development, and a positive classroom environment. While the anticipated assignment is in the ECEAP preschool program, paraeducators may also assist in other classrooms, supervise students during recess and lunch, and support other educational activities as needed.Wishram School District is a small rural district that values strong relationships between students, staff, and families. Teachers work closely with colleagues across grade levels and subject areas, and the small school environment allows educators to know their students well and provide meaningful support for student learning and growth. Enrollment in Kindergarten/1st Grade is expected to be 8-10 students, creating a learning environment where teachers truly know their students and can provide individualized attention. Class sizes are intentionally small and typically include only a handful of students, allowing teachers to build meaningful relationships with each learner and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs. It is a short distance from The Dalles, Oregon and Goldendale, Washington. The community is very supportive of the school and its staff.Salary: $21.16 - $27.54 per hour.Assignment: Approximately 35 hours per week, school-year position. Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Meet one of the following:
  • Associate degree; OR
  • 48 college semester credits (72 quarter credits); OR
  • Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with preschool-aged children
• Experience in ECEAP, Head Start, childcare, or school settings
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt to changing student and program needs
