Administrative/EMIS Administrative Assistant
Position: Administrative/EMIS Administrative Assistant
Evaluated by: Director of Instruction
Employment Status: Administrative, 220 days – 7 hours
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Description: This is a position of trust and responsibility, and this person
must be courteous to parents, faculty and sta?. The employee must be discreet at all times with
dissemination of any information with which they may come in contact and handle all information
with the strictest con?dentiality. The employee will report to the Director of Instruction. The
employee will enroll students into the Boardman Local School.
NOTE: The below lists are not ranked in order of importance
A. Quali?cations:
1. High School diploma
2. Knowledge and hands-on experience in o?ce procedures, terminology and equipment
3. Training and/or experience, which evidences a thorough knowledge of word processing,
secretarial duties, and communication skills (verbal and written)
4. Criminal investigations clearance
5. Pleasing personality, courteous, and cooperative
6. Professional appearance
7. Strength of character to enforce district policies
8. Such alternatives to the above quali?cations as the Superintendent, Coordinator, Supervisor
and/or Board of Education may ?nd appropriate
9. All non-licensed school employees must submit fingerprints for both the BCI and FBI
background checks. The checks for non-licensed employees must be redone every five years. All
employees must have a TB test.
B. Core Functions:
1. Ensure safety of students
2. Promote good safety practices and procedures
3. Use sick, personal, vacation, and professional leaves in accordance with school policy
4. Exhibit consistency in daily work attendance and conforming to work hours (attendance)
5. Exhibit interest and enthusiasm toward work including a willingness to accept suggestions and
written rules, and loyalty to the school system (positive attitude)
6. Ability to work harmoniously and cooperatively with others as a team member and follow the
appropriate chain of command
7. Exhibit promptness and diligence in the performance of all work related duties
8. Exhibit proper use, care and custody of Board owned equipment, supplies and facilities.
C. Essential Functions:
1. Updates and maintains eSIS data management system
2. Assist with SF-14H reporting for Special Education reimbursement
3. Assist the Treasurer with the tracking of Court Placed students (SF-14)
4. Assist with Home Instruction data reporting for State reimbursement
5. Operates all o?ce equipment including copier, fax machine, computer, etc.
6. Assist with ordering, processing, and inventory of instructional materials/equipment for
special education sta?
7. Student enrollment
8. Data input to the eSIS Student Information System
9. Responsible for the daily maintenance of incoming student enrollment information
10. Attend local EMIS and building secretary’s meetings
11. Assist in tracking of Open Enrolled students
12. Answering the telephone and making student enrollment appointments
D. Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintain respect at all times for con?dential information in both oral and written form
2. Interact in a positive manner with sta?, students and parents
3. Promote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation
4. Attend meetings and in-services as required
5. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Instruction

3. Prolonged exposure to and use of computer equipment and keyboards
4. Occasional requirement to lift, carry, push, and pull various supplies and equipment up to a
maximum of 50 pounds
