Curriculum & Instruction Teacher
JOB SUMMARY:
The Curriculum & Instruction Teacher, under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services, is responsible for providing peer coaching, professional learning, and support with curriculum and instruction.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide staff development, modeling instructional strategies, coaching and curricular supportfor teachers and instructional assistants
- Support teachers with curriculum, planning and implementation of research based instructionalpractices
- Support and integrate best practices around technology and support teachers with districtlearning platforms
- Mentor and support new teachers with planning, curriculum and instruction
- Work with teachers to analyze student work and make instructional decisions based on student need
- Serve as a district representative on content area work groups to increase knowledge ofcurricular areas and collaborate with peers
- Collaborate with site and district administrators around curriculum and instruction
- Facilitate district adoption committees and recommend instructional materials based oncommittee findings
- Support first-best instruction and intervention systems at school sites
- Attend regular instructional coach meetings with District staff
- Collaborate with other instructional coaches
- Organize and facilitate parent workshops
- Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Education: Master’s degree in curriculum and instruction preferred.
Experience: Minimum of five years successful teaching experience in grades PK-8.
Credential(s): Appropriate California teaching credential authorizing service in grades PK-8.
