SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION: |
Provides leadership, supervision, and oversight of the Center's Career Technical Training programs to ensure quality instruction, student achievement, industry-recognized credential attainment, and career readiness. Responsible for supervising CTT instructional staff, monitoring program performance, ensuring compliance with applicable requirements, and supporting students in successfully completing career technical training. |
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: |
- Responsible for the direct supervision, leadership, and oversight of all Career Technical Training (CTT) programs and staff.
- Provides ongoing coaching, training, and performance guidance to CTT instructors to ensure quality instruction and compliance with established program requirements.
- Ensures CTT programs meet expected outcomes, quality indicators, and applicable requirements prescribed in the PRH.
- Monitors student progress, trade completion, credential attainment, and other CTT performance outcomes and develops strategies for improvement when needed.
- Ensures CTT instructors provide effective classroom and hands-on training using approved curriculum, instructional materials, and industry standards.
- Reviews and evaluates instructional methods, lesson plans, training materials, and curriculum needs; recommends changes or supplemental materials as appropriate.
- Ensures CTT programs maintain safe, organized, and effective classroom, lab, shop, and training environments.
- Monitors student attendance, participation, progress, and performance within CTT programs and ensures required documentation is completed accurately and timely.
- Works collaboratively with Counseling, Career Transition Services, Work-Based Learning, Independent Living, and other Center departments to address barriers affecting student training and career readiness.
- Supports opportunities for work-based learning, industry exposure, credential attainment, and employment preparation within students' chosen trades.
- Models appropriate professional behavior and ensures CTT staff reinforce workplace expectations, employability skills, accountability, and positive student behavior.
- Assists with the recruitment, selection, onboarding, development, and evaluation of CTT instructional staff.
- Maintains awareness of industry trends and workforce needs to help ensure CTT programs remain relevant to employer expectations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to support the ongoing needs of the Center.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: |
- Possesses strong oral and written communication skills
- High energy level and ability to engage students
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional strategies, classroom management and content field
- Ability to quickly learn Job Corps methodologies and strategies
- Ability to use different methods and mediums in delivering course material
- Ability to effectively respond to student issues as they arise
- Proficient in the use of a personal computer with emphasis on Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: |
- Bachelor’s degree in education or services or related field.
|
EXPERIENCE: |
- Three years related experience; one of which was in a lead or supervisory capacity.

OTHER: |
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
