Career Navigator
The Navigator will primarily provide direct assistance in recruiting, assessing, and supporting students with education and career related resources. We use the term Navigator because we help adults navigate through whatever obstacles might inhibit them from completing their degree or workforce programs in order to obtain good paying jobs. The purpose of the position is to help increase (1) the number of adults with postsecondary credentials in Kleberg County, and (2) the number of job placements for residents of Kleberg County.
REPORTS TO: E2E Program Director with co-reporting to local community partner POC.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the UpSkill Coastal Bend outreach liaison while scheduling, planning, and participating in a minimum of three (3) monthly community events in the assigned county to build community relationships.
- Implement outreach and recruitment strategies designed to re-engage adults with some college (cold calling, emails, text messages, etc.).
- Plan, organize, and promote targeted upskilling/reskilling workshops, events, and activities.
- Maintain a caseload of program participants who require specialized assistance with job placement and/or completion of a postsecondary degree, certification, or credential.
- Assist clients in applying for programs, grants, and wraparound resources.
- Assist clients with coordinating career development activities (e.g. post-secondary education, apprenticeships, internships, etc.).
- Utilize resources from regional partners, as appropriate, to ensure that program objectives and target outcomes are accomplished.
- Work with partners to connect returning adults with resources.
- Maintain participant data as needed for tracking and reporting utilizing the Salesforce CRM software.
- Assist local officials with planning and coordinating education and workforce-related events and trainings.
- Other duties, as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Business, Public Administration, Management, or related field and two (2) years of experience in education, workforce, or community programs.
- One (1) year of sales or customer service experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with student recruiting and advising.
- Experience in coordinating referrals to community partners.
- Experience in providing adult support and case management.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and CRM databases.

WORK SCHEDULE (MAY VARY DEPENDING ON PROGRAM NEEDS)
- Monday through Friday
- Weekends as needed
STARTING PAY
$17-$18 per hour, based on education and/or experience
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
