What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator - College and Career Readiness (CTE) position at EDUCATION SUPP CTR?
Primary Purpose
Support the mission, vision, and strategic goals of Clear Creek ISD by planning, organizing, and facilitating all activities with respect to high school, college, and career planning for students. Serve as a campus CTE liaison for district CTE initiatives.
Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/Licensure
Masters’ degree from an accredited college or university
Valid Texas teaching certificate required
Career and Technical Education (CTE) teaching certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
Extensive Knowledge of Career and Technical Education programs
General knowledge of Industry based certifications.
Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience
Demonstrated leadership experience in the field of Career and Technical Education
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Educate students about career opportunities, industry certifications, and CCISD program opportunities.
- Assist counselors and students in course registration by providing information and guidance related to CTE coherent course sequences and program of study opportunities.
- Educate students about off-campus CTE specialty programs.
- Monitor and process all CTE specialty program applications.
- Work with campus counselors and master schedulers to ensure students are appropriately scheduled into respective courses.
- Serve as a liaison between CTE teachers and the counseling centers.
- Compile and manage district industry-based certification data.
- Report district industry-based certification data to the state.
- Build connections with local community groups and industry to expand the Career and Technical Education network.
- Serve as a business partner liaison by connecting students with internship opportunities and post-graduation employment.
- Invite representatives from various industries to meet with students to learn about careers and employment opportunities.
- Support 8th grade College and Career Readiness teachers and counselors and assist them in advising students on high school graduation planning, course selections, and elective options.
- Visit intermediate school campuses and talk to students about high school CTE program opportunities so that they can develop their 4-year graduation plans accordingly.
- Participate in planning and organizing district CTE specialty events, career fairs, and ceremonies.
- Organize annual districtwide NTHS induction ceremony for all NTHS students.
- Provide opportunities for students to participate in program tours of local colleges.

- Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
- Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality professional learning opportunities for personal growth.

- Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
- Demonstrates proficient levels of technology applications.
- Participates fully in drills and safety exercises to provide for the safety and overall emotional wellbeing of students.
- Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
- Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
- Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
- Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
- Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
- Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
- Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
