Primary Purpose
Under direct supervision of the Chief Operations Officer (COO), the Director of Transportation ensures safe, effective and efficient operations of the Transportation Department.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalent certificate
Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Certification as a CDL Trainer, preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of energy management, vehicle repair and maintenance
Ability to direct and manage the operations of BISD's fleet of vehicles
Ability to efficiently manage funding allocated for all Transportation Department activities
Ability to coordinate transportation for curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities
Ability to implement federal, state and local requirements associated with public school transportation
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Experience
Three years or equivalent of supervisory experience
Public School District Transportation Department Supervisory Experience, Preferred
Five years of commercial vehicle driving experience
Experience As a Public School District Bus Driver, Preferred
Salary: From 72546.00
Salary: To 87406.00
