Primary Purpose
Direct and manage facilities and operations, including districts transportation services. Maintain physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use may be made at all times. Provide students with a physical learning environment that is safe, attractive, and functional.
Direct and manage the daily operations of the transportation department. Coordinate assignments and schedules of bus driver, monitors, mechanic services and routes to ensure safe and efficient transportation service. Oversee maintenance of all district‑owned vehicles. Ensure safe and efficient operation of transportation department.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma
Bachelor's degree preferred
Valid Texas Commercial Driver License (Class B) preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of basic principles of construction, school plant maintenance, and transportation operations
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Ability to coordinate district function
Ability to operate equipment and vehicle parts
Ability to direct and supervise personnel and coordinate shop operations
Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
Ability to read blueprints and schematics
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to direct and manage operations of a large fleet of vehicles
Acceptable driving record
Ability to operate bus
Knowledge of energy management and vehicle repair and maintenance
Experience
Three years' supervisory experience in maintenance operations or
Five years' experience in maintaining a large plant or building
Three Years' Experience In Transportation Operations (preferred)
