Job Summary
We are looking to fill our evening shift. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our educators in providing a nurturing and effective learning environment for students, as well as help prepare meals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, particularly those with diverse needs, and will assist in implementing educational programs that foster growth and development. Day and evening hours available. This role is crucial in helping students reach their full potential while promoting an inclusive atmosphere. Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in preparing and delivering instructional materials tailored to the needs of students.
- Support classroom management by helping maintain a positive and structured environment.
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students, providing individualized attention and support.
- Implement behavior management strategies to encourage positive interactions among students.
- Assist with caregiving tasks such as diapering, feeding, and supervising children during playtime.
- Help monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher regarding individual student needs.
- Participate in classroom activities, including arts and crafts, physical education, and other educational programs.
- Collaborate with special education staff to support students with disabilities or special needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Help prepare and serve meals to children.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs.
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively within a classroom setting.
- Previous experience in childcare or caregiving roles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of infant care practices is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with students, parents, and staff.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children of all backgrounds.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
