What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Operations Assistant 2, Box PIMS-652/01150 position at Education Department, State?
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have one year of service as a Facility Operations Assistant 1 or Motor Vehicle Operator;
OR
Two years of full-time, verifiable experience in custodial, grounds, or maintenance operation or assisting in a journey-level trade.
- Collaborate with the Print Operations Manager and Test Distribution Center Supervisor to plan and coordinate the shipping and printing of exam materials;
- Open and close the warehouse, verify the security of the unit, and ensure alarms are activated;
- Supervise all Facilities Operations Assistant 1’s and temporary staff in activities related to the shipping operation;
- Prepares employee evaluations as needed;
- Perform shipping duties, including lifting and loading boxes up to 60 pounds on and off of pallets and trucks;
- Ensure that exams are packed into shipping containers as instructed by shipping notices;
- Use and supervise the use of pallet jacks, fork lifts, shrink wrap machines, box making machines, and hand tools;
- Coordinate and supervise the collation of materials needed for pre-shipping of exams;
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area;
- Order shipping supplies; and
- Maintain accurate inventory as required by the Office of assessment.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This will be a permanent appointment. Promotions and transfers may change appointees’ negotiating unit. Candidates should be aware that changes in negotiating units may affect their salary, insurance, and other benefits. Candidates are required to possess a valid New York State Driver’s License at the time of hire. Continued employment as a Facility Operations Assistant 2, is dependent upon maintaining a valid New York State Driver’s License. Failure to maintain a valid New York State Driver’s License will result in removal from employment. The work schedule for this position includes hours of Monday through Friday 7:30am-3:30pm.
This position leads to a maximum salary of $49,405 based on annual performance advances.
