What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Age Teacher/Summer Camp Teacher position at Education Connection?
Education Connection is looking for an energetic, dependable, and creative School Age/Summer Camp Teacher to join our team! This position works with children ages 5–12 in a fun, active, and inclusive environment.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with school-age children, can create a positive classroom atmosphere, and is comfortable supporting children with a variety of personalities, abilities, and needs, including neurodivergent students.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children ages 5–12
- Planning and leading fun activities based on provided weekly themes
- Supporting children during indoor and outdoor play, group activities, meals, and transitions
- Encouraging positive behavior, kindness, independence, and social skills
- Maintaining supervision and safety at all times
- Following classroom routines, center policies, and Texas Minimum Standards
- Communicating professionally with coworkers, children, and families
- Helping keep the classroom and activity areas clean, organized, and ready for fun
Ideal candidates will:
- Enjoy working with children and bringing creativity into the day
- Be patient, flexible, and comfortable in a busy school-age environment
- Be willing to support children with different learning styles, needs, and abilities
- Have strong classroom management and communication skills
- Be dependable, professional, and a team player
- Be able to meet Texas Minimum Standards for child care employees
- Be able to pass a background check and fingerprinting
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience working with children preferred
- Must be able to pass required background and fingerprint checks
- Must be willing to complete required child care training
